It would make more sense if she moved in to his house.ģ. Which would make sense if the male character wasn’t moving into the female characters house because he’s also a famous football player. The best friends of the main characters are moving in together, but not dating. How were the main characters just walking down the same street of a neighborhood when the male main character didn’t live in the neighborhood and he is a famous football player (he was just randomly walking down a neighborhood by himself?) I assumed it was a residential neighborhood and not some busy downtown street, which would make sense.Ģ. Also, this is book 1, but I feel like we jumped into the side characters of a different story that had been developing first (the main character’s best friends are their only connection and they have a story, but it’s so confusing and this story seems to fall in the middle of their story, if that makes sense)ġ.

Everything else was so over the top and not believable at all. The only aspect I liked was the very beginning with the miscommunication. I didn’t read any reviews before I read this book (it was recommended in a book group on Facebook).

I thought this was going to be a quick and easy read at 171 pages, but ooof. This book had so much going on and none of it good! From the dialogue to introducing too many characters in one chapter, everything was just bad. The Bottom Line - I wanted to like this, but I just didn't. The football is written by someone who's never seen an American football game, and in general, it feels like it's set in another country, not the US, so if you're looking for any football accuracy.well, I wouldn't. It's even cringier than the first book, and that's a feat. I thought (hoped) there'd be more chemistry but it feel flat for me. The Bad - Where do I start? The family scenes work better than the romantic ones. It's almost non-existent but it's not offensive. There's some good family/friend scenes as well. The Good - I liked that there's an attempt at expanding the 'verse and including LGBTQ rep in here. But Dustin and Brooke's story could have and should have been better. I'd read the first book a long time ago and said I wanted to give Brooke's romance a shot because I did like the character. I don't think the book is horrendous, but I've settled in the past with BBW romances, and this is just.not particularly good.
